5 Ways to stand up for yourself.
I’m the most calm, and positive person, but respect is something I demand. You should too….. if you’re a kind, loving person who treats other people well, you have a right to require respect. The world works in a way of “What goes around comes around” and if you aren’t putting that into the universe, you don’t deserve that! I’m going to help you speak up and speak out respectfully for yourself in 5 ways.
- Speak up– This might seem kind of obvious… because this is the most basic part of demanding respect. Truly speak up whether it’s in the work place, or in your professional life. There’s no reason why you’re timid, or shy when it comes to YOU. If you’re a introverted person, you can still speak up… it’s no formula to it. Say what is bothering you, what’s the worst that will happen? Who cares….. say it with kindness, but say it!
- Be confident in yourself– A person who is unsure of their self is obvious. Those kind of people usually don’t get much respect. Don’t be that person, no matter what it takes find a inner love, a deeper meaning to who you are so that you can expect respect from others because you love and respect yourself first before anyone.
- Expect greatness- Don’t go into any situation expecting anything less than greatness... set your standard higher than you even think you deserve, because accepting poor treatment will not even be a thought to consider. I don’t even go to restaurants with low expectations, because I serve and treat myself exceptional, so allowing anyone else to serve me poorly would be magnified, because I’m not used to that treatment from myself
- Give respect– In order to demand anything back from the world, you have to be willing to give it first. If you’re rude, and don’t respect people…. the worst thing you can do for yourself is demand respect. It’s almost like you don’t have the right, because you haven’t paved the way to have respect come back to you. Just be a good person!
- Let your character speak for you- People can always tell a person they’re going to respect immediately by the way they carry themselves, the work they do and simply how they treat other people..
